Pet Spay and Neuter

Aside from vaccinations, spaying and neutering your pet is one of the best things you can do to keep your pet healthy and happy!

Health Benefits

Spaying or neutering your pet can prevent many different health-related risks. Males and females that are spayed or neutered have a lower risk of developing diseases like cancers of the respective reproductive systems. In addition, female dogs and cats can experience a potentially life-threatening condition known as Pyometra, which is a bacterial infection in the uterus.

Pets that have been spayed and neutered commonly live much longer. Besides the physical benefits, spaying and neutering also help with behavioral problems. Without neutering, your young male dog may start marking his territory inside your home or act more aggressively. For females, early spaying prevents them from going into heat.

Helping the Animal Community

El Paso and many other communities face an overpopulation of animals. Too many animals are euthanized every year because they can’t find good homes. You can help by spaying and neutering your own pets.

At East El Paso Animal Hospital, we are here to help! If you have any questions or concerns about spaying or neutering your pet, one of our dedicated staff members would happily answer your questions or concerns. If you need more information on our spaying and neutering services, please contact us today at (915) 593-1712. We would be glad to assist you!
